August 18th, 2008 by Kristina Randle, LCSW (General, OCD)
Q. OCD and People pleasing: I have been diagnosed with OCD. I have major problems with people pleasing, to the point where I do not even know my own opinions sometimes. I would never disagree with anyone or get into an argument and if I have to make a choice, I try to make one that I know would make the other person happy. My question is, is what I am describing part of my OCD or another problem entirely? Thank you. A. You’re welcome. You ...

Depression as a Result of Being in Vietnam?

August 18th, 2008 by Kristina Randle, LCSW (Depression)
Q. I have suffered noticeable depression for 25 years which become very severe in recent times. I take 40mg of citalophram for the condition. This depression has been diagnosed as work related, but I don't believe this is case. Work may have added to the depression over the years, and it was accompanied at times by anxiety and panic attacks when I felt threatened, but feel that the fundamental underlying cause was a result of military service in Vietnam changing my nature and outlook on ...

August 11th, 2008 by Kristina Randle, LCSW (General)
Q. Ever since I was about twelve, and possibly earlier (I remember pretending to be a mouse that was being suffocated to death by a snake when I was around nine), I have had sexual fantasies about being kidnapped and tortured... But I'm still somewhat worried and very curiously about what can stem these ideas, especially at ...

Student Nurse with Psychosis Problems: How Can I Get Help?

August 11th, 2008 by Kristina Randle, LCSW (General, School, Work)
Q. Recently I feel like I'm going a bit mad. I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder a couple of years ago but even then i thought the diagnosis was a bit off as I don't personally think I fit the criteria. I am not particular compulsive and I don't have abandonment issues among other things. I was prescribed a number of different drugs and saw a psychologist for a while. I was hospitalised under a section a little while later and when I ...
